Equity, diversity and inclusion are central to our work because a diversity of experiences and perspectives brings the richness of thought leadership needed to build more effective change strategies and more powerful movements. Justice is built into our programs because climate change, after all, is fundamentally a justice issue – and questions of who benefits and who bears the cost are key to shaping fair and lasting climate solutions and the energy transition.

This is an ongoing journey. Our team is continually working to increase its diversity, make our workplace more inclusive, and be a stronger ally to wider movements for justice.

In practice, this means:

Zero tolerance for discrimination on the basis of race, culture, gender, disability, age or sexuality, and actively working to challenge and transform structural inequalities in how we work together and through our work in the world.

Investing in training to build understanding and awareness of structural injustice, discrimination and unconscious bias.

Actively supporting First Nations communities and projects as part of our core programs on fossil fuels and clean energy.

Continuing to explore how our programs can contribute to longer-term efforts to transform underlying structural injustice.
